are the same concerns for you have for your second almost worst c.e.o. andrew mason of daily deal site groupon. a lot of european problems there but there were significant accounting problems and questions about mr. mason's maturity. stock price down significantly from where it was a year ago. >> grew upon has collapsed in 2012 and stock down 80% over the year. andrew mason look like a c.e.o. in over his head: you mentioned various problems in europe. and you know, fundamentally there's not any sustainable strategy behind the groupon approach and that's because you have living social and literally dozennens and other companies doing these daily deals, and so if you don't have any particular advantage other than being first and now being eclipsed you have to come up with something else and there's a potentialing grace because mason has been working around-the-clock to try to figure out what could we do at groupon to try to stem the tide and there's a variety of different efforts and experiments frankly that are going on. so what i like about that is that he is recognizing the rea fundamental p

is the first state south of the mason-dixon line to make gay marriage legal. workers in two more states can say no to bosses demanding access to their social media accounts like facebook or twitter. laws in california and illinois are on taking effect making it illegal for employers to make workers give access to their password protected social networking accounts. hundreds of thousands will ring in the new year with more money in their paychecks. ten states across the country are raising the minimum wage for 2013. most of the pay bumps come from state cost of living adjustments that account for inflation. washington state will still hold the title of having the highest minimum wage in the country at $9.19 an hour. that is after the 15-cent new year bump kicks in. no more hogs running wild in kentucky. a new law in that state will make it ill had for residents to release feral or wild hogs back into the wild. and keep those swamp buggies off the roads here in florida. as of tomorrow, the state of florida no longer recognizes the all-terrain big machines as motor vehicles. in miami, happy new ye

, down to the south, putting down rain. but farther north, north of the mason dixon line, it is all snow. and it will continue to snow. and sometimes we say snow makes snow. because if the ground is covered in snow, the air above it stays cooler. if the air is cooler, you have a chance of rain or snow, what will it be? you have this ripple effect, one thing after another effect and so more snow heading even into new york city for tomorrow night. now, there is rain now moving into new orleans here, baton rouge seeing very heavy rain, could get a little flooding here, some quick flooding, it will go away quickly. here across parts of mississippi, alabama, even into atlanta, rain coming in, and then along that line, right where the snow is now. don, would you believe, 65% of the u.s. right now is covered with some type of snow. inch or more. 65%. the most we could get at all last year was 45% in february. 48%. we're better than that. and really, you know, it is just starting. this is winter, just starting. the snow does move across the north anywhere from north of memphis right through evan

for inspiration and substance on their declaration, state of virginia. and when the convention was over, mason was a member of the virginia delegation would not sign the constitution. washington was infuriated. but this indicated a real problem. because if you didn't, the constitution does, wait into force when nine states ratified. if he didn't have virginia or new york, it didn't work. and so it came about, one of the great informal agreements in american legal history, there was an agreement, and in formal agreement, that if the constitution were ratified as written by the 1787 convention, that there would be a bill of rights. and statesmen, and they were statesmen in those days, kept their word. and so we had a bill of rights. and the result is we have a hamiltonian structure and a jeffersonian bill of rights. and i will mention just a few things about each of those. into force structure, they were different structures. but, of course, when the principal ones was the separation of powers and checks and balances. we use those terms often interchangeably. say separation of power check and ba
